Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage (Champissage) includes massage to the head, shoulders, neck, upper arms, scalp, face, and ears. It is based on the ancient traditions of massage and the Ayurvedic system of healing that has been practiced in Indian for thousands of years.

What happens during a treatment?

If it is your first treatment I will take you through a health and lifestyle consultation, which will be kept confidential. You will then be seated comfortably in a straight backed chair. The treatment can occur with clothes on, but for a deeper massage I recommend keeping your shoulders, neck and arms bare. If you would like oil to be used this will be smoothed over the neck and shoulders, before a range of relaxing or stimulating massage movements take place to release areas of tension and either rejuvenate or relax you.

What are the benefits of Indian Head Massage

Indian head massage does not claim to diagnose or cure. However, as it is a holistic therapy which treats the whole of the body and not just the symptoms, there are many benefits it can bring. Indian Head Massage helps to relax muscle and tension in the neck, shoulders and head and can bring about a sense of calm and peace. The techniques used are both stimulating and relaxing, which help to increase circulation and lymphatic drainage, improve concentration and mental fatigue and helping to restore wellbeing.
